QantasLink is now flying direct between Perth and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
The weekly Friday service began on May 1, 2026.
It cuts travel time to Cocos to just over four hours, as the updated route takes out the previous stop in Port Hedland.
The remote tropical Cocos (Keeling) Islands can host just 144 travellers at a time.
There are white-sand beaches, palm trees, surfing and snorkelling — and the chance to go back to a simpler style of holiday.
The flights are available for booking now.
Travellers can choose to travel direct from Perth to Cocos every Friday, and direct from Cocos to Perth every Monday. So you could make it a long weekend or a 10-day trip with no stops.

Qantas also flies Cocos to Perth on a Friday but this service stops at Christmas Island. It still works as a connected booking, where you just select “return”.
As an example, flying economy to Cocos on June 5 and back on June 19 is from $736 each way ($1472 return).

Kitesurfing Best from June to October, when there are reliable sou’-easterlies.
Fishing From the beach or the shallows around West Island and Home Island, fish for XL bonefish, giant trevally and bumphead parrotfish. Catch sweetlips, bluefin trevally and silvery fish from the shore.
