A Perth court has released extraordinary dashcam footage of a man driving with unauthorised lights and sirens and overtaking across double white lines and around bends before smashing head-on into an oncoming car.
The vision, shown in court on Friday, forms part of the police case against Jack Dunn, who is facing multiple aggravated driving charges over a crash on Sunday in Wanneroo.
The split-screen footage shows both the driver and the view through the windscreen of his Ford Everest as he travels south along a busy single carriageway stretch of Franklin Road, with 1990s dance-pop hit The Sign by Ace of Base blaring from the radio, but not masking the constant sound of emergency sirens.
It runs for about 90 seconds, during which the Everest can be seen overtaking at least eight cars before an attempted passing manoeuvre ends in a catastrophic collision with a Mercedez Benz carrying five people.
Some of the cars moved aside while on multiple occasions, the Everest crosses solid lines to pass others.

As it approaches the crest of a hill, its driver again pulls across double white lines in an attempt to pass a string of four cars.
But as the road sweeps to the right, the driver dodges an oncoming car by veering completely into the wrong lane. Behind that car was the Mercedez Benz, and the two vehicles collide.
Mr Dunn has been charged with aggravated dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, four counts of aggravated dangerous driving causing bodily harm and attempting to pervert the course of justice
He remains in custody.
