A technical issue has left Telstra customers across the country puzzled and “confused” after they received a number of delayed missed calls and voicemail notifications all at once.
In a statement posted to X, Telstra said it was aware of the issue, which had been resolved as of 5.45pm AWST Wednesday.
“We are aware of some customers receiving a number of delayed missed call and voicemail notifications arriving all at once,” they said.
“This is due to an issue with our MessageBank service earlier today, which has now been fixed.
“We are sorry for how confusing this must be.”
Telstra said the issue did not impact “triple-0 calls, voice calls or mobile data”.
Speculation about the cause of the issue spread across social media, including unverified claims from members of the public that Telstra had been hacked.
Telstra has been approached for comment.
More to come.
