The ex-royal is battling controversy once again after one of her former personal assistants has revealed some damning information that shows Fergie’s true character.
According to Andrew Lownie’s bestselling biography on the lives of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, Princess Beatrice was often left to pay the bill for her mother’s luxury taste.
The stunning claim is said to come from a former personal assistant to the 66-year-old, and is quoted extensively throughout the book.
The unnamed source says that working for Ms Ferguson was “chaotic” and left staff with a “crushing sense of embarrassment 80% of the time.”
“Freebie Fergie” as she’s been called, also had an excessive spending habit and would often ask her staff to pay for expensive items with their own personal credit cards.
“The assistant and other staff members had problems getting paid and often had to buy things using their own credit cards,” Lownie wrote.
“Sarah herself drew on Beatrice’s credit card constantly and paid one psychic in cigarettes.”
The personal assistant further claimed that the pair’s daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, were “very much under the control of their mother but embarrassed by her behaviour.”
Bizarre demands plagued the York residence, with Ms Ferguson apparently insisting on a fresh cream cake being made for her every day.
Another assistant claimed the former duchess would buy her own book in large amounts to inflate her position on the bestseller list, and then hand them out as gifts.
“Sarah rarely paid for anything,” Lownie wrote, instead expecting friends to entertain her luxury lifestyle.
Another damaging allegation surfaced in Lownie’s biography, alleging that Mr Mountbatten-Windsor abused his pet Labrador in front of guests during a pheasant shoot at Sandringham.
The shooting party had gathered for a mid-morning break where soup and sausage rolls were being served, when things took an awkward turn.
“Suddenly, the dog leapt and snatched the guest’s sausage roll from his hand, causing him to laugh.”
But Mr Mountbatten-Windsor was not amused, instead, Lownie claims he “kicked his dog in the head, leaving her whimpering on the ground”.
The guest who told Lownie of the incident said that he admonished the former prince, saying, “That is the most disgusting thing that you have just done to your beautiful dog. You should be ashamed of yourself!”
Mr Mountbatten-Windsor responded by swearing at the guest, saying, “It is none of your business, and I will do precisely what I want to MY dogs.”
Later, though, Prince Philip approached the guest to say “What you said to my son today was absolutely right and Her Majesty and I fully agree with what you said. Andrew needs a good scolding from time to time”.
Mr Mountbatten-Windsor and Ms Ferguson’s personal staff were reportedly kept quiet under strict Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
It comes as the UK police have made an extraordinary appeal for witnesses in sexual misconduct claims against the former prince that are believed to have taken place more than two decades ago.
Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has maintained his innocence.
